IBRA Incentive Program Mission Statement

The IBRA Incentive we’ve been dreaming of is now a reality!
We have named this incentive the “Fair Shake Incentive Program.

The reason for creating this program is that we are wanting to give more of our members an opportunity to run in incentive programs. The program will be open to all horses regardless of their pedigree and will be an equal payout incentive!
It is our hope that this incentive will give you the opportunity to invest in an incentive that will payout here where you most often get to run.

We have 4 main goals with this incentive:

  • Develop a program that incentivizes barrel horses not strictly based on pedigree.
  • Offer a program that allows our members to invest into a program that will payout in their own community (Midwest and Eastern portion of the country).
  • Support Producers in the Eastern and Midwestern portion of the country.
  • Support the Open Class of Riders in our membership area.

Enclosed is a flyer that has all the general info you should need to know including costs and where the initial shows will be held. We hope you increase the number of shows we can put incentive money in but have made our plans to be based off of what we hope is a fairly conservative figure allowing room for growth.

IBRA Incentive Program Rules

Any IBRA member can join as a rider for a one-time $300 fee that covers the rider for the length of the program.

To nominate a horse it is $200 per year. There is no penalty for years missed.
You may join at any point during the year.

Show season will run in conjunction with regular IBRA season. Shows may change from year to year.

The IBRA office will post a list of Riders and Horses eligible for the incentive the Monday before each event. If someone wishes to join, they must do so before the show begins. The office will post the results of the incentive once they have received them from the producers. Any disputes must be called in to the IBRA office by the day after posting. If not, the results will be considered finalized and checks for the incentive will be mailed out in a timely manner.

If a nominated horse is sold to a non-member, they would be able to pay the rider fee and continue with the horse for that year.
If a nominated horse is sold to another nominated rider, there is no additional fee.

Incentive payout will come from the Saturday Open Barrels at each show. Payout will be based off of the fastest placing time of the incentive.
